The State Orchestra turns 81

81 years ago, on 5 October 1936, the first concert of the State Orchestra took place at the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory. The programme included "The Internationale" and the symphonies by Ludwig van Beethoven - the first and the third. The orchestra was conducted by Aleksander Gauk and Erich Kleiber.
